Atrocious News
Well, my worst fear came true. My cat fell from a 20 ft landing in our house and now I am sitting here worrying that he has internal bleeding. He’s not limping or anything and on the outside he seems to be doing fine. I just hope that he didn’t squash anything on the inside. I wouldn’t normally worry about a cat since I know they can jump off roofs and land on their feet, however our cat has a kind of strange gimp back leg. Sometimes he misses small jumps he is trying to make, and worse yet, if you are holding him in your arms and try to drop him to the floor he lands on his side instead of his feet. It makes me really sad that he’s not like other normal cats and so you can imagine why I am so worried that he fell so far. He most likely did NOT land on his feet. I didn’t see it happen. I just heard it from upstairs and gasped in cat-mommy horror. I fled to the scene of the crime and looked down and sure enough, there he was at the bottom looking stunned. All I can say is poor, poor Pegasus.
Here is cute little guy from this winter that I never blogged. He graces the back of my business card.

awwww…my prayers are with you and pegasus during this time…may he have a full eight lives left!
Aww poor lil guy, I hope he’s ok!!!
I hope your kitty is okay!!! Must have been scary!
Oh my, I am so sorry. I bet he will be fine, though. A few years ago our pure bred Himalayan jumped out of my friend’s second story window because she was mad that there were other cats at the home she was staying at (typical siamese). She just took a leap and went right through the screen! She ended up being fine, although very stunned (and mad). I think she recovered a lot better than my friend did…..who had to make that call to me 2,000 miles away saying, “Hey dude, your cat just jumped out our 2nd story window”.
Good luck with him! They truly do have 9 lives
Despite the fact that his name is Pegasus, he is still unable to fly. I’m working on it though… And while Amy is a phenomenal story-teller, I’m going to have to say the fall was more like 14-15 feet. But now that I’ve said this, I’m sure she will measure it just to prove me wrong. (See: He-Man post)
I hope your kitty is OK. Can you take him to the vet just to be sure?? As always, love your pictures. Thanks for sharing!
Awww, I hope he’s okay! It’s so scary when you don’t know if your furry babies are hurt because they can’t tell you!
The same thing nearly happened to one of my cats the other day! Our cats get chasing each other, and they always race through the dining room or living room and hurl themselves up onto the window sills. My fiance and I are terrified that one of these days, one of them is going to go right through the screen! So, a couple days ago, Patrick pushed all the screens up so I can open the windows from the top, instead. Well, the other morning (without thinking), I pushed up one of our huge windows in the living room then went back into the kitchen to pour my cereal, etc. When I came back into the living toom, one of my cats was perched on the window sill with half his body hanging over the side of the house! We’re on the second story! He was just staing at me, haha. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH! I slowly walked up to him and just talked to him gently until I was close enough to scoop him up. My heart pretty much stopped beating during that moment, though, and it was like slow motion - so scary!
Great photos! I love the colors and textures! Your work is always incredible!
I am so worried about your kitty. I also am a kitty mom and so I can completley sympathize.
Oh Jeeez Amy, I hope Pegasus is okay! Keep us posted. I have 2 boxers, one of which is not the brightest porch light on the block. The other day we were having a doggie play date at a friends and while mis-calculating a turn, he ran full speed into the front corner panel of her mini-van! He was stunned but okay…he has a hard head!
As a former cat mommy I understand the horror you’re going through now. Have you called the vet to see what they suggest?
No worries, Amy….

he still has 8 lives left.
I hope your poor kitty cat is ok.
That little boy - CUTEST THING EVER!
