I’m sure you will all be relieved to know that Pegasus checked out okay after his scary fall. He is doing just fine. I loved all the pet stories you guys shared with me! Made me feel like less of a crazy cat lady. This warm spring weather today really lifts my spirits. I got out of the house for a while and went in a few of my favorite local shops. When David gets home from work we are going to go out and have some fun together. I can’t wait- work has been keeping him especially busy lately and I need some david time!!!! I’m getting a taste of my own medicine since I used to work such crazy hours, but I’ve been slowly but surely cutting back to get to a place of balance. I actually took vacation from photography for the month of April to work on my Swiss Miss Design stuff. It has been a really fun process and I am very excited about some of the new creations. I’m thankful I have this additional creative outlet in my life. I’ve always been a crafty sort of person- I love to make things, build things, bake things, decorate things….I used to be even more crafty than I am now. I was always buying and painting vintage furniture, smashing tiles and building mosaics, doing abstract watercolor paintings. A couple of years ago someone came into my screened in porch and stole all of my boxes of art supplies. We are talking mega dollars worth of oil and watercolor paints, brushes, darkroom tools, ceramic tiles, you name it. I was so sad. Some of it was very sentimental to me because I used it during Art school. I still haven’t gotten around to replacing it now that I have these other aspects of creativity in my life. Someday I will go buy back everything that stupid thief stole from me.
Here are some senior photos from a session this past school year:

Well, my worst fear came true. My cat fell from a 20 ft landing in our house and now I am sitting here worrying that he has internal bleeding. He’s not limping or anything and on the outside he seems to be doing fine. I just hope that he didn’t squash anything on the inside. I wouldn’t normally worry about a cat since I know they can jump off roofs and land on their feet, however our cat has a kind of strange gimp back leg. Sometimes he misses small jumps he is trying to make, and worse yet, if you are holding him in your arms and try to drop him to the floor he lands on his side instead of his feet. It makes me really sad that he’s not like other normal cats and so you can imagine why I am so worried that he fell so far. He most likely did NOT land on his feet. I didn’t see it happen. I just heard it from upstairs and gasped in cat-mommy horror. I fled to the scene of the crime and looked down and sure enough, there he was at the bottom looking stunned. All I can say is poor, poor Pegasus.
Here is cute little guy from this winter that I never blogged. He graces the back of my business card.

She’s 3 days old in these photos. I could just squeeze her little cheeks and pinch her little nose and mega kiss her chubby little arms and bother the crap out of her the whole time she is sleeping.

My trip down south for my new neice being born was fun but very busy! I’m not particularly fond of flying. I’m one of those people who prays the whole time the plane is taking off and landing, “Dear God don’t let this plane crash please keep it in the air the whole entire time don’t let me die I have so much life ahead of me can’t you see what a great idea it is to keep me alive a little bit longer dear Jesus please miraculously fix this plane if there is anything wrong with it have mercy on me.” And of course I’m sneaking a peek out the corner of my eye at the person sitting next to me since they are most likely the person whose hand I will be holding when the plane goes down. Come on, I know I’m not the only one who imagines that scenario. Anyways, my neice arrived quickly and safely. I did a photo shoot of her when she came home from the hospital. She’s really beautiful. I’m not finished with the pictures yet but will post them when they are ready. So here’s to arriving back safely and finally getting all my emails answered and my mail opened.
This fabulous gold chair I got for $15 at Goodwill. I went in looking for something else, and came out with a chair over my shoulder. Poor David never knows what I’m going to be hauling out of a store. I just knew instantly when I saw it that I would love it for a shoot just like this. These are more pictures of the cute little baby in the suitcase from a few posts ago.

That’s unfortunate what happened to your art supplies! I’m sorry about that. I like the warmness in your photos, doesn’t hurt that the girl is down-right gorgeous too!
Glad your kitty is ok!

Amy-
The pics look great. I can’t wait until our phone consult on Tuesday! I am so eager to learn from you. I had to laugh at your blog- my husband makes fun of me because I am always looking for something new to paint… whether it’s a wall, an old piece of furniture or a new piece of furniture that I want to look old. Sounds like you’re very artistic. Don’t you just love it!
