I just love this day, and we even got some sunshine. I hope everyone has a day filled with happy memories. My husband and I are going out for a delicious Tapas dinner. My favorite!
And this little guy- He’s only 3 but he read me the whole book by heart. He had very definite opinions about how this photo session was to take place, and I had to follow his rules! Listening to his story and not coming too close with my camera was enforced with the iron toddler fist.

I love hearing about the work and projects of other photographers. After initially reading about this guy in Good Magazine, I recently discovered this video about his very cool project in NYC. Check him out!
Tonight I went to a party at my color lab. It was a great time meeting and socializing with other photographers. I entered the raffle but made a point of telling everyone how unlucky I am and that I never win anything. At the end of the night they drew my name and I won the $100 lab credit! It definitely made up for all the bad elementary school moments when I never got picked to be Mary in the Christmas pageant or was the last person picked for dodgeball. What can I say?
I throw like a girl.
I was more interested in wearing my jean jacket with the collar up and making sure my pants had the best tightroll.

hey there amy,
love your work! i was just reading your blog about your lab’s party and realized you must use the same lab i do because they had an open house bash that night too. love it! anyway, i was lucky enough to be soaking in some rays in arizona that night or it would have been fun to meet and chat! i love the 80’s jokes! we just got my 2 year old son some chuck taylor converse shoes in the mail today and it made me reminescent of my own pair of tri-colored (pink, yellow and aqua) chuck taylor high tops i had in middle school. did you ever fall for that funny trend?
thanks for sharing via your blog!
Love is in the air. Valentines Day is just around the corner…one of my favorite Holidays. Here’s a glimpse of what I’ve been up to lately with photography.

Mindy Smith- gotta have her. She’s so soulful and sweet. I’ve been addicted to her album “One Moment More.” For those of you who like an acoustic folky sound with lyrics from life this is a must have. I have listened to it straight through probably 90 times in the last month. (please don’t think I’m weird, I spend A LOT of time editing and designing and this requires an ipod, baby). You can sample all her songs on itunes!
Okay, and for those of you who appreciate the old school and would love to bring back the 80’s just as I do- I’ve been listening to Michael Jackson’s Number Ones album. I cannot sit still when this is playing. Its like 2am and I am sitting at the computer with my headphones busting a move. Do kids these days say “bust a move?” I guess I better freshen up on my terminology before I’m found out.

This is a random image from my travels. Ever wonder what a Ukranian gnome looks like? Now you know. I’ve never seen more random sights on the side of the road than I did in Europe.
This music video is a MUST SEE. Everything about it is wonderful. If you are not familiar with Sigur Ros they are an amazing band from Iceland and their music videos are as cool as their sound. Icelandic children have the most stunning features. This video would make ANY child photographer drool, and the ending is the best part. Email me:info@amywenzel.com if you get tears in your eyes…I’d like to take a count!
I was going to put the youtube version right in the blog, but click on this link to watch it in higher quality (watch it in cinema). Sigur Ros Music Video
its definitely worth it! And turn the music up loud.
