Okay, I’m supposed to be “on vacation” right now…but seems I’m still finding plenty to do! Here are some pictures from my last senior session. I also had the privelage of learning a few photo shop tricks from an incredible film director from L.A. who is in town. So I’ve been a busy bee experimenting with all my new “skills.” Almost everything I know I’ve taught myself, so its incredible to be able to sit down with people who know so much more than I do. I absolutely love this growing/learning process. I like to look back and see how far I’ve come.
This session yielded so many creative shots! I spent FOREVER editing the proofs, but it was worth it because I am in love with the entire session. I can’t take too much credit because she really couldn’t take a bad picture if she tried. I’m sure you’ll see plenty more of her on my new website coming soon! Ok, maybe not soon, more like sometime after Christmas. Depending on how many all-nighters I want to pull while I’m “on vacation.” =)

So, these are actually all pictures from the summer. How it works is that I photograph the people in my family throughout the year and most of the pictures end up sitting in a folder until I get caught up on REAL work. So its been really fun going through and editing these pictures…finding a jem here and there. Remembering our get togethers and long weekends with all my grown siblings hanging out at my parents house by the pool or eating ice cream down by Reeds Lake. These pictures take me back to summer and the fun that we had! I was so tan! Yikes, I was just joking with a friend today that I’ve got to get on a multi-vitamin so I look a little healthier.
So here’s a couple of me and my husband around our 1 year anniversary in July…

Here is my lovely neice with the tan lines. She’s always been such a soulful child. I wish I could read minds sometimes when I’m around her…

Meet my brother and his wife who has become like a sister to me over the years. This is classic Kristen! She crinkles up her nose right before she’s about to roll into laughter. I could stare at this picture all day because it is SO her!

And their little boy who is a riot- you might remember the shots of him with the blue umbrella on my website.

My neices displaying typical sister behavior. One minute love, the next minute cat fight.

I also have another beautiful nephew who I have photographed but haven’t gotten to those pictures yet- so more later!

Is everyone getting into the Christmas spirit? We are getting our Christmas tree this weekend and I can’t wait!! I also hear that we are supposed to get 6-12″ of snow which excites me beyond measure. I’ve been listening to my all Christmas music radio stations and my husband is very kind about it. I think some of my Christmas zeal has even rubbed off on him over the years. The studio will be closed from December 9 to January 6 and I am looking forward to some relaxation and fun. Someone has already snagged the free session I offered last post, so thanks to everyone who inquired! I’ve also been continuing to think and pray about balance and priorities, and I feel I am making some break throughs. God is opening my eyes to the fact that true success is knowing Him and I am not going to find deep fulfillment and contentment in anything else! Strive though I may…
So- below is a little angel. I could tell they enjoyed the EXPERIENCE of being photographed. That makes it so fun for me. When you are done, everything about it just felt right. How it should. Except for the fact that she peed when we had her diaper off for the pics. That was just funny.
