FORCASTED RAIN
I prayed in the car that the rain would hold off until after the photo shoot that morning…the sky was dark and brooding. I always feel guilty praying about the weather because I know that somewhere out there is another girl praying to God that it WILL rain so she can get out of some horrible & emotionally terrifying picnic where she has to see an EX or something. On this particular day I was running a little late and right on par with being late I also got a little confused with the mapquest print-out laying on my lap. I accidently drove about a mile past their house, but I was never so thankful for getting lost- there before my eyes was this magical field, storm clouds and all. And because this family was so easy-going and fun they were totally into hopping in the car and indulging me. I’ve never seen a 2 year old throw a bunny quite so high. And she caught him too!

It started to sprinkle just as we were packing up to leave. Hopefully now it would downpour on her picnic.
When I was in college I mentored a little girl through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. We were matched for several years and then my life took me away to Ohio, then California, then back to Michigan. I hadn’t seen her in two years. Tonight we were re-united and WOW, she’s not in 4th grade anymore! She asked me to take some pics of her…I thought she’d never ask. =)
